As my furniture making business started to progress, I took on a premises that was too large for my needs. Along with my business partner Jake, we turned it into a thriving cowork space in our hometown, Northampton.
We secured funding from the council to re generate the premises and used the workshop to fit out the offices. After 3 months of working night and day we opened as cowork engine - Northampton's first cowork space.

Once we opened things were slow to grow but we persisted in networking and online marketing to grow the space to capacity and profitability within two years. We had over 40 members using the space but unfortunately our cash reserves were not enough to sustain us through the pandemic and we closed down the business early in 2021. We moved the remaining clients to a new cowork space and sold the workshop machinery and office fitout to a design & build agency.
